Privacy Policy
Effective October 14, 2026
- Your health log (shots, weights, side effects, notes, check-ins) is stored on your iPhone. We don’t upload it to our servers.
- We collect app usage analytics tied to a random ID, never your name or email, so we can improve Pinch. You can turn this off in Settings.
- Subscriptions are processed by Apple. RevenueCat and Superwall help us manage them. We never see your payment details.
- No ads. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t track you across other apps or websites.
Who we are
Pinch (“Pinch”, “we”, “us”) is an iPhone app for people tracking their GLP-1 medication, made by an independent developer. This policy explains what data the Pinch app and this website handle, why, and the choices you have. Questions: hello@pinchapp.net.
Data stored only on your iPhone
Everything you enter into Pinch is saved on your device using Apple’s on-device storage. This includes your name, medication, dose and schedule, injection sites, weights, height and goal, side effects, notes and daily check-ins. If you create an account with Sign in with Apple or email, that account (Apple’s anonymous user identifier or your email address) is also stored only on your device.
We do not upload this information to our servers and we do not sync it to iCloud. Home Screen widgets and the Live Activity read a small summary (such as your next shot date) from storage shared on your device. Shot reminders are scheduled locally on your iPhone.
Exports you create, such as a CSV file or the doctor PDF report, are generated on your device and only shared where you choose to send them.
Data we collect
| What | Examples | Why | Shared with |
|---|---|---|---|
| Random app ID | An ID generated on your device when Pinch is first opened. It is not linked to your name, email or Apple Account. | To count users and connect usage, subscription and paywall events from the same install | PostHog, RevenueCat, Superwall |
| App usage | Screens viewed, onboarding steps, features used, and when you log a shot, weight, side effect or note (not what you wrote) | Analytics: to understand how Pinch is used and improve it | PostHog |
| Health-related settings | Medication name, injection or pill, dose level, schedule frequency, whether a shot was on time, number of side effects and their severity, units and reminder setting | Analytics: to understand which features help people on different treatments | PostHog |
| Purchases | Subscription status, product, price, trial and renewal events, store country | To give you Pinch+ access, restore purchases and measure subscription health | Apple, RevenueCat, Superwall, PostHog |
| Paywall interactions | Which paywall was shown, where, and whether it was closed or a trial started | To show the right paywall and test designs | Superwall, PostHog |
| Diagnostics | Crash and error reports, app version, iPhone model, iOS version, language, and approximate location (country or city) derived from your IP address | To fix bugs and keep the app reliable | PostHog, RevenueCat, Superwall |
We never send: your name, email, Apple Account details, notes, exact weights, or your shot and weight history.
Your choices
- Turn off analytics: Settings › Your data › Share usage analytics. When it’s off, Pinch stops sending usage analytics to PostHog. Purchase processing still works.
- Delete your data: Settings › Your data › Delete account & data removes your account and every entry from your iPhone immediately and starts a new random app ID. Deleting the app does the same.
- Notifications: you can turn reminders on or off in Pinch or in iOS Settings.
- Sign in with Apple: you can stop using your Apple Account with Pinch in iOS Settings › Apple Account › Sign in with Apple.
- Access or deletion of analytics data: email hello@pinchapp.net and we’ll help. Because analytics are tied to a random ID rather than your identity, we may ask you to send the app ID shown in Pinch so we can find your records.
Service providers
We use these companies to run Pinch. They process data on our behalf, under contract, and only for the purposes above:
- Apple: App Store payments, subscriptions, Sign in with Apple and notifications. See Apple’s privacy policy.
- PostHog (United States): product analytics and error reports. See PostHog’s privacy policy.
- RevenueCat (United States): subscription management and receipt validation. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
- Superwall (United States): paywall display and experiments. See Superwall’s privacy policy.
- Vercel: hosts this website and may log basic request data such as IP address. See Vercel’s privacy policy.
We don’t sell or rent personal data, we don’t share it for advertising, and we don’t use your health information for marketing or advertising. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep data
Data on your iPhone stays until you delete it or the app. Analytics data is kept for as long as it’s useful to improve Pinch and no longer than 24 months. Purchase records are kept as long as needed to provide your subscription and meet legal and accounting obligations.
Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
We process purchase data to perform our contract with you (providing Pinch+). We process analytics and diagnostics on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping Pinch working and improving it, and where the law requires it, your consent. You can object to or withdraw from analytics at any time with the switch in Settings. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your data, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
US state privacy rights
Depending on where you live (for example California, Washington, Colorado, Virginia or Connecticut), you may have the right to know, access, delete or correct personal data, and to opt out of its sale or use for targeted advertising. We don’t sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising. To make a request, email hello@pinchapp.net. We won’t treat you differently for using your rights.
International transfers
Our service providers are based in the United States. If you use Pinch from elsewhere, data we collect is transferred to and processed in the United States, with safeguards such as standard contractual clauses where required.
Security
Data on your iPhone is protected by iOS, including your passcode and device encryption. Data sent to our providers travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
Children
Pinch is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used Pinch, contact us and we’ll delete related analytics data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above. For significant changes, we’ll let you know in the app.
